New Book Will Investigate Online Law Schools

March 4, 2008

Is going to law school online worth the expenditure? Can distance learning support the study of the law? These have got to be questions on the tip of many prospective students’ tongues. LawSchoolAdvisor has never ever read such a comprehensive look at online law schools as the one written by Jeffrey Corcoran, “The Truth About Online Law Schools: Are They Worth it?” We just finished an advanced reading copy.  Its well worth the price. No prospective law student should spend any money on an online law school before they read this book. We’ll write more later.

New Faculty Rating System from Green Bag: Is it a Good Idea?

March 1, 2008

Heck yeah! The faculty of law schools should be called to the carpet. Their exhorbitant salaries drive high education prices and thus price many (read the poor and the minorities) out of Law School. We can all thank the proctectionist policies of the American Bar Association for that.

US News & World Report (USNWR) gives us no insight into the quality of law school faculty. (USNWR) Green Bag is proposing that faculty should be graded on three key criteria. First, are they scholars? Second, are they active pro-bono practicioners? Third, are they active and good teachers? All of these criteria make sense to me. So, we all need to stay tuned to see what turns up!

Are on Online Law Schools the Future?

February 26, 2008

In short, yes.  Read this new piece titled the “Truth about Online Law Schools”.

As far as we know, there are really only two online law schools worth considering. These are Concord Law School and Abraham Lincoln Law School.  Both are in California.

We found the staff at Abraham Lincoln Law School to be more friendly and helpful. We also found the Abraham Lincoln Law School’s website to be more user friendly. On the site, I quickly found their tuition and I also was able to find a list of students that recently passed the bar in California! It was very exciting to see that folks taking the bar with a degree from Abraham Lincoln Law School are passing the bar!

Am I missing any credible online law schools in this posting?
